TML’s Podcast Revue: My Brother, My Brother and Me
by Adam Meshell
My Brother, My Brother and Me, often referred to as MBMBaM, is a comedy advice podcast hosted by the brothers McElroy, that’s Justin, Travis, and Griffin. Justin and Griffin are best known for their work on joystiq.com as video game journalists. Justin was also one of the hosts of the now defunct Joystiq Podcast where Griffin would frequently guest. MBMBaM centers around the brothers taking questions from e-mails and yahoo answers and turning them into wisdom for their listeners (that the show advises ‘never to follow’). The podcast is comic gold; you will be addicted after the very first
hit listen. My Brother, My Brother and Me normally lasts about an hour and is completely free unless you want to give; then, in that case, the brothers also take endorsements. Individuals can pay for birthday wishes, anniversary greetings, or even to have them plug your business or website (the latter gets you a custom jingle from Griffin). These usually run from $100 - $200 and are a worthwhile investment, given the large listener-base of the show. To conclude every podcast, the youngest brother, Griffin, reads one final question that goes unanswered and is typically the most ridiculous question on the show; just a little something to think about during the other six days of the week the McElroys are missing from your life. MBMBaM is available every Monday and is downloadable on iTunes and from their website, MBMBaM.com. Try it now, it doesn’t hurt, and I even provided a link to a sampler.
